This was Sta's second unified (minus Swift Rock) LA excursion. Deus, Doc Rice, and Relm took that 6-hour drive to LA while Streak had the convenience to fly (lucky bastard).

Although most of the elements represented were indeed exhibitions, the DJ portion was not. It was a pretty fierce head-to-head battle and we were quite lucky to make the entire top 3 placement roster, with Deus taking third, Doc Rice, placing second, and Relm winning the title (Doc hasn't battled since then, by the way). Streak placed in the top 8, but was paired and eliminated by his own crew man Relm at that stage in the battle.

After the show, some of the judges for the night (which were Melo-D, Curse, J-Rocc, Havik, Cut Chemist) performed a short showcase, and the crowd was treated to an amazing performance by the Black-Eyed Peas right after.

Oh yeah, and here's a bit of trivia: Doc moved down to LA several weeks after. But he is returning to the Bay in the year 2000, folks. He's quite set on that.
